A storm front with heavy rain and hail again led to muddy roads and floods in parts of Austria, and slopes also slipped.

The fire brigade was deployed in several federal states to empty cellars and remove trees from the streets.

No injuries have been reported so far.

The disaster control asked the citizens in the flooded areas in the Salzburger Land to stay on the upper floors and to be extremely careful.

As the energy supplier Salzburg AG informed, there were power outages due to the violent thunderstorms, which at times affected around 600 households.

Lower Austria was also hit by violent storms, as reported by numerous media.

According to »Kurier« and the local portal »Ö-News«, the region around Tulln, where it rained 70 liters per square meter in places, was hit particularly hard.

According to ORF, around 15,000 firefighters went on more than 500 missions in Upper Austria.

In the city of Gmunden, the streets in the city center were flooded because the canal was overloaded by the heavy rain.

About a month ago Austria was hit by severe storms.

At that time it had rained like a torrent in Salzburg, Tyrol and the capital Vienna.
