He really will not have seduced the public. The controversial American film
Unplanned
, broadcast Monday evening on C8, was the source of "
several
" complaints to the Superior Audiovisual Council (CSA). The body that recorded the seizures will now study the sequence in question. If it does not intervene "
in the programming of the chains
", the CSA recalls that the diffusers are subjected to "
legal obligations
" and must respect the law. Obstructing the voluntary termination of pregnancy (abortion) is now a crime in French law.
If the complaints are declared founded by the CSA, C8 "is
exposed to formal notices and in case of repetition to the initiation of sanction procedures
".

The anti-abortion film ultimately attracted few viewers.
Only 304,000 people were in front of C8 Monday evening, with an audience share of barely 1.5% according to Puremédias.
A score which places the chain in fifteenth place behind TFX.
"
Propaganda tool
"
Before the broadcast of the long-format, C8 chose to display the following message: “
In France, every woman has the right to dispose of her body as she sees fit. This right is guaranteed by law. This story, which only commits its author, does not mean questioning this right but measuring its importance
”. A decision motivated by the controversy caused by the announcement of this broadcast. Two ministers notably lambasted the programming of C8.
Élisabeth Moreno, Minister in charge of Equality between women and men denounced a "
despicable anti-abortion propaganda tool
".
For her part, Marlène Schiappa, Minister responsible for Citizenship, recalled that access to abortion "
is a right in France
", for which "
our elders fought
".
Contacted, the management of the channel has so far declined to comment on these complaints.
