It was made to be desired, but it arrived.
With the
heavy snowfalls
starting at dawn on Monday, August 16 and much of Tuesday, 17, many destinations in Patagonia were dyed that long-awaited white in each of the places, especially in those with ski centers.
According to weather reports, much of the region
is expected to continue snowing
in the coming days, and this will enable more and more slopes.

With all its services functioning normally and its tourist structure enabled, the
Cerro Catedral
ski center
was activated in Bariloche
, which was open only for beginners at the base, with artificially manufactured snow.
"We are very happy for the snow that is falling. We hope it continues like this so that we can accumulate even more snow. We are very happy that
the snow finally arrived in quantities
and that it covered the entire mountain," said Gastón Burlon, Secretary of Tourism of Bariloche , during Tuesday 17.
Although
July was a month with little snow
, the winter holidays and the rest of the attractions of the Río Negro destination boosted hotel occupancy that reached 70%.
But the snow was lacking, which until now left Cerro Castor, in Ushuaia, with an advantage over the rest of the complexes.
Little by little in the Cathedral they are adding lifts and tracks.

Last long weekend in August, the occupancy figure in Bariloche reached 60%.
From the Cathedral, they pointed out that on Tuesday 17 the
Base and the Princess 1 chairlift
were opened
, which is for beginners, since at the top there was a lot of wind.
For this Wednesday 18 they already expect to open the Base, Princess 1 and 2, Sextuple, Quadruple, Lynch, La Hoya, Triple Park and Punta Nevada.
This represents the operation of 40 percent of the complex.
More snowfall is expected for the next few days, which will allow adding services in the ski centers.

In the coming days
some other means will be
added to add service.
In addition, for non-skiers (pedestrians) the Amancay gondola lift and the Diente de Caballo chairlift were opened.
Neuquen
In Neuquén, the
Chapelco ski center
opened its slopes for skiers and snowboarders in the Intermediate Station area on Tuesday, with the operation of the Gondola, Silla Graef, Silla 63 and Magic Carpet del Graef.
Good news!
The snow has arrived and the #CerroChapelco slopes are already enabled on platform 1600!

In addition, the Ski and Snowboard School for all levels, as well as the Nursery and the Snow Garden, functioned normally.
In Plataforma 1600 (access by cable car), rides were carried out on snowmobiles, sleds with huskies and snowshoe walks.
In
Cerro Bayo
, the ski center of Villa La Angostura, the snow also reached full, which allowed tracks in all sectors of the mountain: 10 cm accumulated at the base, 50 cm at height 1,500 and
80 cm at height 1,810
, and the snowfall will continue throughout the week, according to the forecast.
As a result, as of today, most of the slopes in the Beginners' Area and the Central Zone are open to skiers, as well as others in the 1,200 Area and the Recreation Area, with tubing and culipatín tracks and snowshoeing.

From
Cerro Perito Moreno
, 25 km from
El Bolsón
, in Río Negro, they reported this morning that
more than 65 cm of snow
had accumulated
on the Plateau
, at elevation 1,700, and more than 50 at elevation 1,400, intermediate, where there is a confectionery and the exit of chairlift 2, which leads to the beginning of the Plateau.
"There is snow to the base but now it is not possible to get there by skiing because it is still snowing and it is necessary to step on the snow, but we are working on that," they assured.
