In Canada, a female soldier has been found guilty of drugging her comrades during a military exercise.
Military judge Sandra Sukstorf came to this judgment, as reported by the Guardian, among others.
She called the soldier's behavior "shockingly unacceptable" - it could have resulted in the death of her colleagues.
According to the report, the incident occurred in July 2018 during the "Exercise Common Gunner" exercise unit in Gagetown, New Brunswick, which lasted several weeks.
At the time, the soldier was working in the canteen at the military base.
She prepared chocolate cupcakes for her comrades - but they also contained cannabis in addition to the usual ingredients.
The soldiers ate the cupcakes without knowing the extra ingredient.
Cupcake consumption with dangerous consequences
The soldier admitted in a video statement that she had baked the cupcakes for her comrades.
However, she denied that she also used cannabis.
However, five of their comrades tested positive for tetrahydrocannabinol during the military exercise, THC is the key substance in cannabis.
Traces of it were also found on the packaging of the cupcakes.
The soldiers reacted differently to cupcake consumption.

One soldier almost crashed his military truck and other comrades said they couldn't stop laughing.
In the military trial, the soldier has now been found guilty of eight cases of administration of a harmful substance and one case of shameful behavior.
The sentence is due to be announced on November 16.
The military judge also stated that the soldier had access to medical cannabis at the time of the military exercise: she used it as a sleep aid at the time.
In Canada, adults have been allowed to buy and consume cannabis since October 2018, even if it is not for medicinal purposes, but for enjoyment.
The law went into effect three months after the cupcake case.
