This afternoon the Government updated the figures for the coronavirus pandemic in Argentina.
In the last 24 hours,
10,596 new cases
and another
189 deaths
were confirmed
.
Since the beginning of the health crisis, the country has exceeded
5.1 million infections
detected and
109 thousand deaths
.
The data were published by the Ministry of Health, in the health part prepared based on the data provided by the provinces.
Despite the slowdown that occurred in recent weeks, Argentina remains the
8th
country with the highest number of infected people detected in the entire pandemic and the
12th
with the most fatalities, according to data from the Worldometers site.

When analyzing the figures for the 7 days prior to today's part, the daily average of new infections was

Vaccines
A shipment of
716,800 Sinopharm vaccines
arrived from China
this morning
, adding to the more than
1.1 million new doses
(also including a batch of AstraZeneca) that were received overnight on Wednesday.
According to the schedule,
another 768,000
will come on Saturday
, for a total of 2,304,000.
These doses are part of the current contract with the Chinese laboratory, for a total of 24 million vaccines.
The first 8 million arrived in July, and these three shipments are part of the second tranche of 8 million scheduled for August.
The rest, as announced, should arrive in September.
This Thursday another 716,800 doses of Sinopharm vaccines arrived from China.

As of this morning, 42,792,314 doses had been distributed to the provinces, of which
5 million remain to be applied

A total of 26,929,739 people received at least one vaccine.
This represents
58.79%
of the population, out of the 45,808,747 inhabitants estimated by INDEC this year.
Within the total number of vaccinated, 10,852,224 people are included who also received the second dose with which the immunization schedule is completed.
That is,
23.69%
of the population.
