With 976 new entrants in the last 24 hours, 10,392 patients are now treated in hospitals in France, against 10,336 on Wednesday and 9,465 seven days ago.
Among these patients, 2,049 are receiving critical care, according to health authorities on Thursday.
The day before, they were 2054, a level that had not been reached since mid-June.
Some 186 people have joined these worst case services in the past 24 hours.
Between Wednesday and Thursday, 127 patients died from Covid-19 in French hospitals, bringing the total toll to 113,182 deaths since the start of the epidemic.
