Around a month after the murder of journalist Peter R. de Vries, another journalist was attacked in the Netherlands on Wednesday evening.
According to the police, at least one incendiary device was thrown through the windows of journalist Willem Groeneveld's apartment in Groningen.
He and his partner managed to put out the fire.
Groeneveld writes for »Sikkom«, the city of Groningen's blog.
He has been intimidated before.
Two years ago, according to a media report, stones were thrown through the windows of his house after several articles alleged homeowners in poor neighborhoods.
Last week Groeneveld told the Villamedia website that he "looked over his shoulder" when he was walking around town.
After the murder of Peter R. de Vries, this was "the second attack on a Dutch journalist in a short time," complained the General Secretary of the Dutch Association of Journalists, Thomas Bruning, according to the Dutch news agency ANP.
De Vries died on July 15 after being gunned down on July 6 in Amsterdam.
