ROME, AUG 19 - From the resilient women of the Himba Tribe of Namibia to the otherworldly landscape of Mount Roraima in Venezuela, the images that describe the stories of more than 25 localities and communities living in places at risk are breathtaking to moving.

The Italian photographer and designer Angelo Chiacchio tells her in A World of Difference, a new exhibition present internationally online on Google Arts & Culture, in collaboration with the non-profit Art Works for Change.

On the occasion of World Photography Day, held today, August 19th, A World of Difference wants to lead to the discovery of unique places and cultures of our planet while everything is changing faster than ever. Climate change and continuous socio-economic variations are threatening natural landscapes and destroying small communities in various parts of the world. Precisely for this reason this project was born to document our ecosystem so at risk. You can thus explore Tibetan culture in the Himalayas, life changing for communities near Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, or see spectacular images of the Brazilian white desert. The lesson learned during Angelo's journey, aimed at documenting the fragile heritage of the Earth, is that of respect forenvironment and the rebalancing of the way we live it. Although the Miccosukee people of Florida's Everglades mostly follow a modern lifestyle, they continue to try to preserve their heritage. The Uro community of Lake Titicaca, which for thousands of years has lived on floating islands built with reeds, has found a way to balance the constant growth of tourism while still offering its young people the opportunity to keep traditions alive.has found a way to balance the constant growth of tourism while still offering its young people the opportunity to keep traditions alive.has found a way to balance the constant growth of tourism while still offering its young people the opportunity to keep traditions alive.

'' The digital experience that we announce globally starting today - explains Google Arts & Culture -, contains over 400 images of nearly 30 cultures around the world. In addition, it is possible to discover interviews, images, 360-degree films of far and near peoples, 5 3D models of architectures characteristic of some of these cultures and much more ''.
