The musician Angelo Kelly has to pay a fine of 3000 euros for a performance by his youngest son.
He failed with a legal complaint against the fine.
The Bavarian Supreme Court in Bamberg rejected this as unfounded, said a court spokesman.
Kelly had been fined by the Hassfurt District Court in February because the stage appearance of his son William violated the Youth Protection Act.
The 39-year-old, who appeared as a child with the Kelly Family in front of an audience, lodged a legal complaint.
"The review of the judgment of the district court did not reveal any legal error to the detriment of the person concerned," said the court spokesman.
The performance took place in the evening
In the summer of 2019, the then four-year-old William stood on stage for at least half an hour at an open-air concert at Schloss Eyrichshof near Ebern in Lower Franconia.
The performance ended around 8:20 p.m.
According to the Youth Labor Protection Act, children between the ages of three and six may participate in music performances for up to two hours a day, with an official exception - but only between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Kelly therefore received a fine from the government of the Bavarian district of Lower Franconia, initially in the amount of 5,000 euros.
Since Kelly had lodged an objection, a trial took place in the Haßfurt District Court in February.
"As a father, the most important thing for me is the well-being of my children," said Angelo Kelly on his Facebook account after the verdict was announced.
“William was never obliged to appear with us at any of our shows.
If he did it, it was only because he wanted to. "
In June, a case was dropped because of another appearance by William from July 2019: Kelly should have paid a fine of 2,000 euros.
According to the Düsseldorf District Court, it was unclear whether this was actually an employment relationship within the meaning of the Youth Labor Protection Act.
According to Kelly's lawyer, the appearance in Dinslaken, North Rhine-Westphalia, lasted one to three minutes.
Kelly, however, had to pay a fine of 500 euros for two other offspring who had performed at the concert.
