In the Turkish Black Sea region, heavy rains since last week have led to the worst flooding in years.

The provinces of Kastamonu, Sinop and Bartin are particularly affected.

A total of 79 dead have been found so far after the severe floods.

This emerges from a communication from the civil protection authority Afad.

Meanwhile, the search for missing persons continues, including search dogs and divers in the Black Sea, as the state news agency Anadolu reported.

Some regions are still without water, said Afad.

Several houses were brought down by the floods, and bridges also collapsed.

Thousands of people were brought to safety.
