The German Press Agency (dpa) has also dealt with this question and, on the occasion of the current collective bargaining dispute *, reported on how much Deutsche Bahn employees
can earn per year
depending on their professional experience and specific task
- bonuses and Christmas bonus included:
Engine driver:
44,000 to 52,500 euros
Dispatcher:
36,000 to 54,500 euros
Track construction:
37,000 to 47,000 euros
Zugbegleitdienst
(
account manager, Zugbetreuer, train conductor
): from 37,000 to 50,000 euros
On-board catering
: 33,500 to 40,500 euros
Travel advisor
(
e.g. ticket sales
): 33,000 to 41,500 euros
Apprentices
(depending on the year of training): between 1,004 and 1,208 euros per month.
In addition, there is a Christmas bonus
Interns
(depending on qualifications and experience): between 450 and 1000 euros per month.
According to the dpa, the information comes from Deutsche Bahn and relates to a 39-hour week.
According to a spokeswoman, this does not include the possibility for employees to get additional vacation days in return for a lower salary.
As a result of this and other special regulations, salaries could also be outside the ranges mentioned, the news agency describes.

The train drivers' union GDL is calling for
better pay
and improved working conditions for employees
in the wage conflict
.
It competes with the larger railway and transport union (EVG).
As dpa also reported on the background, the GDL rejects the accusation that a power struggle is playing a role in the collective bargaining.
