(ANSA) - ROME, AUG 20 - It was carrying 823 Afghans, and not 640, the US military plane starring in a photo - which showed the inside of the aircraft filled to the brim - which became viral on social media in recent days and considered the symbol of the drama of the country's population fleeing from Taliban.
The Air Mobility Command of the US military, quoted by SkyNews, corrected the initial count of 640 evacuees, stating that the C-17 Globemaster that left Sunday had 823 Afghan citizens on board. The number given above was for adults only, and did not include the 183 children who were on the flight. (HANDLE).
