Jürgen Klopp has been wearing glasses since childhood - now, after more than 45 years, that has changed.

The reason, however, is apparently not vanity: The coach of the Premier League club Liverpool FC told Bild TV that the glasses never bothered him.

"I've gotten used to it." However, there has been another problem in recent years: the glasses no longer corrected his poor eyesight properly, according to Klopp.

"So I had to take care of it."

A small intervention was necessary.

Klopp did not say what exactly was done, but it was not a laser treatment.

"This procedure meant that I can see very, very, very well without glasses at the moment," he reported.

That doesn't mean that he will never wear glasses again.

But he doesn't need any for normal everyday life at the moment.

However, he has not yet got used to doing without glasses.

"I think my face is weird without glasses," said Klopp.

“But when I put on glasses with window glass now, I have the feeling that I'm looking through a pane of glass.

And that's annoying too. "

The lack of Klopp glasses could also be an issue for the merchandising department of Liverpool FC.

"I didn't inform anyone in the club," said the former Dortmund master coach and added jokingly: "I'm sorry that the fan articles have to be re-produced."
