A snake keeps people in suspense in the Sachsenheimer Kirbachtal in Baden-Württemberg.
The animal was spotted on Saturday afternoon, said the police in Ludwigsburg.
"There is a possibility that this could be a non-native venomous snake," the officials said.
As reported by several media outlets, including the SWR, there is a cell phone video of the animal which, according to reptile experts, could be a cobra.
A search operation by the fire brigade, animal rescue and police was unsuccessful and was canceled on Saturday evening, as the "Ludwigsburger Kreiszeitung" reported.
According to the police, anyone who discovers a snake should keep their distance and dial the emergency number.
