The Ministry of Education has released the results of the general secondary school certificate exams for the second session of 2021 in its literary, scientific, Sharia and vocational secondary branches.
The Minister of Education, Dr. Darem Tabbaa, indicated in an exclusive statement to SANA that the number of applicants for the second session amounted to 77,867 male and female students, of whom 66,557 male and female students succeeded, with a success rate of 85.48 percent.
Tabbaa indicated that the number of students who “failed in the first session” and those who applied for the second session were 19,305 students, of whom 12,091 students succeeded, with a success rate of 62.63 percent, while the number of improved students “who succeeded in the first cycle” who applied for the second session reached 58,562 male and female students, of whom 54,466 succeeded. With a success rate of 93.01 percent, the number of students who benefited from the improvement “increased their success rates in the second session” 39,072 and the percentage of those who benefited from the improvement was 66.71 percent.
Tabbaa indicated that as a result of the first and second cycle exams for the scientific branch, the number of applicants reached 126,181 male and female students, of whom 92,603 succeeded, with a success rate of 73.38 percent.
In the literary section, Tabbaa explained that the number of applicants for the second session amounted to 32,713 male and female students who succeeded, of whom 26,056 succeeded, with a success rate of 79.65 percent.
Tabbaa pointed out that the number of improved students “who succeeded in the first cycle/” who applied for the second cycle amounted to 21,278 male and female students, of whom 18,929 succeeded, with a success rate of 88.96 percent. .
As a result of the exams of the first and second sessions of the literary branch, the number of students applying for the study reached 67,556 male and female students, 42,349 of whom passed with a success rate of 62.68 percent, and the percentage in the first session was 52.14 percent, noting that the success rate in the two sessions in 2020 was “62.04” percent.
In the Sharia Secondary Certificate, Tabbaa indicated that the number of students who applied for the second session amounted to 911 male and female students who succeeded, of whom 751 succeeded, with a success rate of 82.44 percent.
Tabbaa indicated that the number of improved students “who succeeded in the first session” who applied for the second session was 453, of whom 419 succeeded, with a success rate of 92.49 percent. The number of students applying for the first and second sessions of the Sharia Secondary Certificate amounted to 1,585, of whom 1,286 succeeded, and the success rate was 81.13 percent, and the rate in the first session was 60.19 percent, noting that the success rate in the two courses in 2020 was “82.13” percent.
In the Women’s Professional Secondary Certificate, Tabaa explained that the number of applicants for the second session was 1170, of whom 1003 succeeded, and the success rate was 85.73%. In the first cycle, 288 applicants for the second cycle passed, of whom 243 succeeded, and the success rate was 84.37. Of them, 2,398, and the success rate is 70.61 percent, and the rate in the first session was 48.33 percent, noting that the success rate in the two courses in 2020 is “73.41” percent.
In the Industrial Vocational Secondary Certificate, Tabbaa indicated that the number of applicants for the second session was 6,824, of whom 5936 succeeded, and the success rate was 86.99 percent.
Tabbaa pointed out that the number of improved students “who succeeded in the first session” who applied for the second session was 2,979, of whom 2,654 succeeded, with a success rate of 89.09 percent. For the second industrial secondary certificate, the number of applicants reached 17,302 male and female students, of whom 10,591 succeeded, and the success rate was 61.21 percent, and the rate in the first session was 41.67 percent, noting that the success rate in the two courses in 2020 was “61.26” percent.
In the commercial vocational high school certificate, Tabaa confirmed that the number of applicants for the second session amounted to 3,387 students, of whom 2,611 succeeded, with a success rate of 77.09 percent.
Tabbaa indicated that the number of improved students “who succeeded in the first cycle” who applied for the second cycle was 1,193 male and female students, of whom 967 succeeded, with a success rate of 81.06 percent. The number of students applying for the first and second cycles of the Commercial Secondary Certificate amounted to 11,063, of whom 6,990 succeeded, and the success rate was 63.18 percent, and the rate in the first session was 39.58 percent, noting that the success rate in the two courses in 2020 was 46.17 percent.
