"Télématin": good humor and small bugs ... for their premiere, Julia Vignali and Thomas Sotto were at home

Since this Monday, France 2 offers a completely redesigned version of its morning piloted by a duo, already very comfortable despite the small s

6:29 am, Queen's “Don't Stop me Now” sounds on France 2. After the credits roll, Thomas Sotto and Julia Vignali welcome viewers of the new “Télématin” formula with a big smile.

All in a totally revisited decor, extremely woody, warm and friendly, with a view of the dawn over Paris.

From the first moments, dynamism and good humor are at the rendezvous.

Just like a news flash now presented standing by Johanna Ghiglia, at the end of the table, right next to the duo.

Unfortunately, the first small bug, the management is heard on the set.

"These are the settings from the start," smiles the new presenter.

Technical issues that will appear from time to time during these three hours of live show: video problems for Mathilde Terrier, sound for Alex Jaffray, weather map for Nathalie Rihouet… But each time handled with good nature.

Because overall, despite the changes, everyone feels at home.

The humorous column with Alex Vizorek hits the mark

The promised good humor is there. Julia Vignali does not hesitate to mock the hairstyle of her partner who "did not have time to go to the hairdresser before the show". Nathalie Rihouet, she appears as the almost rebellious element, teasing Thomas Sotto who makes him feel good. And the unpublished humorous column with Alex Vizorek hits the mark. A false letter from Delphine Ernotte, the president of France Televisions, in hand, the Belgian comic makes his comrades laugh, not hesitating to compare Julia Vignali to Denise Fabre. Even the more serious chronicles, like the economy with Axel de Tarlé, are brought with a smile.

Information is no exception. In addition to the flashes, make way for a slightly longer version of the “4 truths” with Caroline Roux, whose table is installed right next to the animators. Thomas Sotto, for his part, has the right to his own topical interview with doctor Philippe Amouyel on Monday on the Covid epidemic. Clear and concise, no frills.

On the sponsor side, this version offers two choice names. There is Jacques Dutronc, via a video for the weather forecast, confident with humor watching the morning "every evening". And Hugues Aufray for a long interview the last half hour, after a small failure at the start of the program. Wishing to know if their guest was awake, Julia Vignali and Thomas Sotto wanted to try to call him. "But we did not think of a detail: we do not have his number," they admit then, promising to correct the situation the next day.

This revised and corrected “Télématin”, while retaining some fundamentals, has yet to be broken in. "We wiped the plaster a bit, we will improve, we will listen to your advice," assumed Thomas Sotto when returning the air. But the promise of information and good humor is there, with a very complementary duo. Something to (almost) want to be up at 6.30am!
