After a goalless first half, Bayern moved on in the 5th minute with Lewandowski and in the 14th minute with Gnabry.
But a minute later Modeste shortened and at 17 'Uth put the game back on a draw.
Gnabry's goal in the 26th minute allowed Bayern to take the three points.
In today's other meeting, Hoffenheim and Union Berlin drew 2-2.
