The purely digital Gamescom starts on Wednesday, August 25th and opens its virtual doors to visitors.
Similar to last year, this year's fair starts again with the Gamescom Opening Night Live, moderated by Geoff Keighley.
According to the official press release, there will be announcements for a total of 30 games at the Gamescom Opening Night Live.

The Gamescom Opening Night Live will take place on August 25th at 8:00 p.m. A half-hour pre-show starts at 7:30 p.m. to get fans in the mood for the big Gamescom Opening Night Live. From 8:00 p.m. there will be the two-hour show with Geoff Keighley. The Canadian presenter receives support from the German presenter Natascha Becker. Since Gamescom 2021 will not take place live on site in Cologne, the Gamescom Opening Night will be broadcast live on both Twitch and YouTube.
