Most types of vegetables are sown and grown in spring - but if you want to harvest something in your own garden in autumn, you can grow the following.
Nothing is better than home-grown vegetables.
But anyone who thinks the gardening season will soon be over is mistaken: You can still sow different types of vegetables in late summer and harvest them this year.

Sowing spinach in late summer: this is how it works
Some varieties of spinach are ideal for
sowing in late summer
- sometimes even until the beginning of October, provided the weather is still mild.
In summer, it is better to use bullet-resistant varieties, as they do not bloom as quickly in warm summer temperatures.
However, they are more sensitive to the cold.
The closer autumn approaches, the more robust varieties are needed.
The cultivation itself is quite simple: sow the seeds about three centimeters deep at a distance of ten centimeters.
You should keep a distance of 20 centimeters between the rows.
Then cover the seeds tightly with soil and water them.

Radishes in the garden: sow now
There are also numerous varieties of radishes that can be sown quite late in the year.
The tubers are particularly suitable because they
only need six weeks to be ready for harvest
.
Generally, depending on the variety, sowing is possible until September.
When sowing, you form rows that are at least ten to 15 centimeters apart.
There should be a distance of around four centimeters between the seeds themselves.
Then sow the seeds in grooves about an inch deep so that they still get some light.
Then the bed is still watered.
