"I see that it works, we are more than 70% of vaccinated police officers, it is 10 to 15 points more than the French population", he said.
These statistics were estimated from "feedback from department heads who spoke with their staff," said the minister's entourage.
According to the latest data available, 70.6% of the French population has received at least one injection and 61.8% now has a complete vaccination schedule.
A decision subject to health developments
Gérald Darmanin will make a point again "at the beginning of September" with the police unions, he said on Franceinfo.
