Nicole Kidman: "I was frustrated"

With children and age, it becomes increasingly difficult for actresses to continue their careers, says Nicole Kidman. From 40 onwards she got less and less big roles, said the 54-year-old US actress in an interview with You magazine: “Like so many women in their careers, I was frustrated by the idea that people would tell me: ' Well, that's it: you have passed this phase in which everything is going well. You are in your forties now. We are no longer interested in your stories, nor in who you are as a woman or as a person.
Kidman thought about stopping as an actress: "The birth of our child was like the end of a chapter for me." It was only at the insistence of her mother and sister that she changed her mind and continued her career. Her sister gave birth to six children - after which she started a career as a lawyer specializing in family law, "despite many fears".
Kidman is one of the most successful Hollywood actresses, got the 2003 Oscar for best leading actress in "The Hours: From Eternity to Eternity".
In 2006, the industry magazine "Hollywood Reporter" listed her as the highest paid actress.
A year later she was offered the leading role in the film adaptation of Bernhard Schlink's "The Reader".
Kidman canceled due to her pregnancy.
After that she was seen in other Hollywood films, including as the leading actress in "Rabbit Hole".
She later appeared in the series "Big Little Lies", which addresses violence against women.
Most recently, Kidman played actress Angie Dickinson in the Netflix musical "The Prom".
