A ship belonging to the Hurtigruten shipping company is in distress off the west coast of Norway.

As the rescue center South Norway reported on Twitter, the machines on the passenger ship have failed.

Four helicopters are on the way to help the ship.

In this context, an ambulance boat ran aground.

A little later the rescue center reported that the "Kong Harald" had dropped anchor and got a machine running again.

How many passengers were on board the liner was initially unclear.

According to information from the Norwegian broadcaster NRK, the municipality of Hustadvika is preparing to accept passengers in the event that an evacuation is necessary.
