A passenger on the American low-cost carrier Southwestern Airlines, which made its way from Orlando, Florida to Norfolk, Virginia, claims that the flight attendants offered her to put the mask on the face of her two-year-old daughter, who cried during the flight. The passenger, Eli Click, flew with her husband and two children, her toddler daughter and her four-year-old son.

Click shared on her Instagram account the chain of events and said her daughter, Drew, had been crying for a long time. "Drew tends to suck her thumb. That's the only way she can calm herself down. And it's almost impossible to do that when wearing a mask," she wrote.

"Well, two flight attendants stood over me, while we tried to repeatedly put the mask on the crying girl. Then it happened: the flight attendant told me two things: 1. We can cut the mask and make a hole in it (she said this with ridiculous and angry sarcasm). 2. We can stick the lid on her face. "

Click noted that upon hearing these things, she began to tremble.

The flight attendant then stated to her that wearing a mask during the flight is mandatory.

"I respect this installation, but at some point, we must have human decency and compassion. I really have no words. I am still shaking. I pray that no one will stand in such a situation."

"Parents should not hold their little child by force"

The Daily Star reported that in response, a statement was sent to the airline on behalf of the airline. The response states that "The obligation to wear masks at all times during the flight is still in force and obliges all passengers aged two and over. We appreciate the ongoing cooperation of our customers and work together to comply with the guidelines, to maintain the health of our passengers during the corona plague as well as Their comfort. "

The company further stated that "all customers are repeatedly reminded regarding the obligation to wear the mask, both when ordering flight tickets and during filling out the health form required prior to the flight as well as at check-in."

This statement did not provide a description of the specific case, but Click says she received a phone call from the airline apologizing for the case. "They said they would talk about it with the flight crew," she said.

"I hope the company is discussing this case to know how to proceed in similar cases," she added.

"I want such a thing not to happen to any parent during a flight. Parents do not have to force their little child to wear a mask."
