1444 male and female students of the Basic Education Certificate, the 2021 session, this morning submitted the first admission test for the National Center for Excellence, in the designated centers identified by the directorates of education in the governorates.

The test includes questions and automated questions in logical mathematical thinking within the specializations of mathematics, general sciences, physics, chemistry and biology, under the supervision of the Central Scientific Committee of the Excellence and Creativity Authority.

Dr. Muthana Al-Qabili, director of the National Center for Excellence, said in a statement to SANA that the first admission test aims to measure the student's ability to think in logical mathematical reasoning in the mentioned scientific subjects, explore the students' high mental abilities and discover their intelligence.

Al-Kabili indicated that the successful in this test will qualify for the second admission test, which will be held at the headquarters of the National Center for the Distinguished at Tishreen University in Lattakia on the 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th of next September. At the center’s headquarters at Tishreen University, also in Lattakia, from nine in the morning until twelve in the afternoon.

Al-Kabili indicated that the names of those accepted to study at the center will be announced within a week of the end of the third stage exams and according to the absorptive capacity, pointing to the increase in the number of students wishing to join the National Center for Excellence year after year, especially as the country relies a lot on this distinguished elite of young people.

Last month, the Excellence and Creativity Commission set the conditions for affiliation with the National Center for Excellence for Syrian students and the like, who obtained a basic education certificate from Syrian schools for the 2021 session, which is that the student’s average in the basic education certificate should not be less than 85 percent, after weighing the subjects of mathematics, science, physics, chemistry and natural sciences. The student's age should not exceed 16 years on 1/10/2021.

The National Center for Distinguished Persons was established in 2009 and adopts a different method by giving the scientific curriculum through electronic, cooperative and constructivist education and establishing an evaluation station at the conclusion of each scientific session in addition to its focus on the semi-open curriculum, where the textbook is considered one of the scientific sources for the student to complete it by collecting the rest of the information from the scientific references approved in Center.
