Cordovan
Matías Parmigiani
converted his Renault Clio model 98 gasoline car to electric, and now the vehicle moves without emitting sounds, without emitting gases and
recharges its batteries at the Epec pumps
in Córdoba.
The curious story was rescued by the Cordovan newspaper
La Voz
, which tells that Parmigiani is "a marketing technician with a lot of curiosity."
"My car is not the first to be converted to electric in Córdoba. The peculiarity is that I
managed the papers
and its 'new engine' is homologated in the registry," said the protagonist.
The text, signed by journalist Joaquín Aguirre, assures that the car "slides" down the street as "almost floating", from so much silence that it shows its walk.
"Although the speed varies, the gear always remains in the same position.
The contrast with the rest of the vehicles is remarkable,
" says the author.

According to La Voz, with the exception of trolleybuses, there are few cars of this type that circulate in Córdoba, although the concern for caring for the environment extends to more and more inhabitants.
Converted cars cannot be recorded as a simple engine change, as it changes the nature of the vehicle's propulsion.
The Automotive Property Registry also requests a homologation by an electrical or electromechanical engineer to generate documentation that must be presented in the DNRPA, according to La Voz.
"The reasons for converting my car are many. It is original, but the most important thing is
the ecological question,
" continued Parmigiani, who explained that among the advantages of having an electric car is that they do not need maintenance, tuning, change of rings, change oil, mufflers, fuel pumps and filters or carburettors.
He also said that coolants and oils, and the engine "
lasts almost infinite
."

How is the conversion
Parmigiani became interested in electric cars in the 1990s and got into it about four years ago, when he took a course on the subject.
In addition, he partnered with David Pagniuco, who was in charge of mechanically converting the car.
"The cost to convert a car is
between 6 thousand and 12 thousand dollars
, depending on the type of vehicle, engine power and type of batteries. In the United States, they convert Ferraris or cars of that type. There and in Europe, there are projects between 50 thousand and 100 thousand dollars, "the text reported.
As detailed, the conversion process involves
removing everything from the gearbox to the engine
and replacing the fuel tank or tube with batteries.
"The advantage is that it retains many things from the original models, such as the features that make for comfort and safety, and also its price is extremely low compared to standard electric models," said Parmigiani.

Now he charges his car batteries at “Point E”, the electric charging point located in the parking lot of the central building of EPEC in the capital of Córdoba.
A fundamental fact: the energy charge has no cost.
This is because it tries to promote the use of electric mobility and promote sustainable actions.
The batteries in the Parmigiani Clio are lead-acid and charge in
three and a half hours
.
They have a range of between
80 and 100 kilometers
.
