Potatoes for 1.10 euros per kilo, carrots for 2.20 euros per bunch or a punnet of raspberries for 2 euros ... Like this

“I did well to come!

»Two bags laden with provisions in her arms, Lucette, an octogenarian from the Bagnolet district is delighted to see the return of the low prices of the PCF 93. Here, as in eleven other towns in the department (Aubervilliers, Aulnay-sous-Bois, Bagnolet , Bobigny, Bondy, Drancy, Épinay-sur-Seine, Montreuil, Noisy-le-Sec, Pantin and Saint-Ouen) the inhabitants were able to take advantage, this Wednesday, August 25, of small solidarity markets to fill their fridge with fruit and organic or sustainable agriculture vegetables, sold at cash price.

The objective for the PCF 93 activists who organize sales in partnership with the social and solidarity economy company Kelbongoo: "To give the lie to the false idea that eating organic is reserved for the rich". Mission accomplished for Lucette who leaves with tomatoes, a salad, green beans and a bunch of carrots in her basket, all for 19 euros. The same goes for Jeanne, who appreciates giving a helping hand to small producers: "I do not see why I should fatten supermarkets which sell food at prices defying all competition but which dry up small producers".

This system of products at full price is moreover "an approach of solidarity and a political approach", according to Guy Lecroq, leader of the communist section of Bagnolet. Working with Kelbongoo, which produces locally, is also a “breath of fresh air for small producers and consumers alike”. The event is not its first attempt, "they have been coming here for a long time, explains Jeanne, and each time it is a success".
