Champions League: All the tips for subscribing (CANAL +, beIN SPORTS, RMC Sport)

2021-08-27T15:29:08.212Z

As the qualifying stages of the Champions League approach their end, the group stages are, for their part, on the point.

The qualifying stages for the UEFA Champions League run until 25 August and at this stage the vast majority of European teams qualified for the group stages are now known.

For football fans, the rest of the competition will begin next September, with the first matches scheduled for the 14th of the month.

But how to take advantage of it?

This season, three broadcasters are sharing the matches in France: CANAL +, beIN SPORTS and RMC Sport.

beIN SPORTS took the biggest share of the pie since the bouquet of channels will broadcast almost all of the competition, that is to say 104 matches over the whole season, exclusively.

In addition to offering each match separately on a specific channel, a multiplex will also be part of the game, so as not to miss any goal.

Next is CANAL +, which will broadcast the two best posters of each day, one on Tuesday evening and the other on Wednesday evening, in addition to the final of the competition.

Finally, RMC Sport will broadcast the same matches as CANAL +, but will not offer the final on its side.

Note that the final will also be offered unencrypted on TF1.

Champions League: all the tips for subscribing

To not miss anything from the Champions League, or to take advantage of the essentials of the meetings according to your desires, you can choose between different subscription formulas, of which here are the details.

The best of good deals: CANAL + Sport and beIN SPORTS

The CANAL + subscription and the SPORT + pack are presented as the best offer to enjoy the Champions League.

And as proof: not only does it give access to the two weekly matches broadcast by CANAL +, but also to all the other matches available on beIN SPORTS.

You can enjoy the entire Champions League on all your screens, including on your TV using a decoder since it is a TV + Digital offer.

It costs 41.99 euros per month with 24 months of engagement, or 46.99 euros per month with 12 months of engagement.

Note that it is also available without obligation for 41.99 euros per month, but it is then a 100% Digital offer.

Those under 26 pay only 30.99 euros per month.

beIN SPORTS alone, for 104 matches of the season

This means that you can access it from a computer, smartphone, tablet, or through game consoles and televisions that allow you to download the beIN SPORTS app.

This broadcaster owns the rights to 104 UEFA Champions League fixtures for this season, which represents the majority of matches in the competition.

All this without counting the rest of the CANAL + film, series and documentary programming.

This subscription costs 31.99 euros per month with 24 months of commitment and 36.99 euros with 12 months of TV + Digital commitment, or 31.99 euros per month without commitment and 20.99 euros per month for under 26 in 100% Digital.

What is the schedule for the Champions League?

At the moment, the qualifying phases of the Champions League are coming to an end: they take place since June 22 and end on August 25.

On that date, all the teams qualified for the rest of the competition will be known, and players will have a bit of a break before the start of the group stages which will take place from September 14 to December 8.

There again, a new break, this winter time, for a resumption on February 15, 2022 with the knockout stages.

The final will take place on May 28, 2022 at the stadium in St. Petersburg, Russia.

It is therefore a very busy program that awaits the qualified teams, as well as the spectators who will be able to enjoy some great matches.

Champions League: a change of formula planned for 2024

The Champions League as we know it today will change in 2024. Indeed, UEFA announced it last April, but in August, it affirmed this necessity. As a result, from 2024, there will no longer be the usual group stage and knockout stage. In addition, it will no longer be 32 teams that will compete, but 36, which also contributes to changing the game in an important way.

Each team will play 10 games in the first round, four more than today, which makes sense given the addition of teams.

However, there will be no more second leg.

The top eight ranked teams from this phase of the competition will automatically qualify for the round of 16, while the top 16 behind will compete for the remaining eight places.

The others will be eliminated.

From the moment the best 16 teams are known, the round of 16 will be launched, then the quarters, the semi-finals and finally, the final.

A reorganization which does not make only people happy since many observers believe that it will play especially in favor of the biggest football teams.

The future will tell whether this formula works or not.

Which are the most successful teams in the Champions League?

22 teams have won the Champions League, and the most successful by far are Real Madrid, who have brought home the big-eared cup 13 times.

Behind, we find AC Milan, with 7 titles, then Liverpool and Bayern Munich, with 6 titles each.

FC Barcelona have won the Champions League 5 times, Ajax Amsterdam 4 times and Manchester United 3 times.

On the French side, only Olympique de Marseille have won the Champions League once: it was during the 1992-1993 season, and the club won in the final 1-0 against Milan.

It goes back a long way, but it's a victory all the same!
