After their boat went down, two young sailors were rescued from the North Sea by a naval helicopter.
Another man who was with them, however, is still missing in the morning.
The three sailors, aged about 20, capsized on Thursday evening with their boat between the islands of Baltrum and Langeoog, as announced by the German Society for the Rescue of Shipwrecked People.
As a result, a rescue helicopter from the Navy encountered the young woman at around 9:30 p.m. and one of the two men half an hour later.
The two were pulled up with a winch and flown to the hospital.
According to a spokeswoman for the rescue company, the rescued were hypothermic.
The sailors involved in the accident had initially called the Ostfriesland rescue control center, but the emergency call was difficult to understand.
After a cell phone location, several rescue ships and helicopters left for a position near the two islands.
Extremely heavy seas with waves up to four meters in height made the search more difficult, according to the rescue company.
