The transmissibility index falls slightly
according to the weekly ISS-Ministry of Health monitoring of the trend of the Covid epidemic in Italy: the Rt value passes from 1.1 last week to 1.01 of the latter.
The further decline confirms a trend that has already been underway for some weeks.
According to what is learned, however, there was a slight increase in the national incidence with 77 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants for the period 20-26 August, compared to 74 cases 7 days earlier.
The values are being examined today by the control room.
There are 10 regions and autonomous provinces which are
instead
classified as moderate risk and Sicily
, which
should become yellow from Monday
, it is classified at moderate risk but with "a high progression escalation in the next 30 days" The remaining 11 regions are classified low risk.
Beyond Sicily, which exceeded the thresholds for hospitalizations (19.4%) and intensive (12.1%), the moderate risk concerns Abruzzo, Basilicata, Calabria, Campania, Liguria, Piedmont, Trento, Puglia, and Valle d'Aosta.
In particular, Sicily is in the lead for overcoming the decision-making indicators with an employment rate in intensive care of 12.1% (against the threshold of 10%), occupancy of beds in the non-critical medical area of 19.4% (against 15% threshold) and 7-day incidence (20-26 August) highest in Italy with 200.7 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants against the threshold of 50. In Sardinia 11.2% intensive and 14% medical area, with 148 , 5 of incidence. In Calabria 15.2% in the wards and 5.9% intensive with an incidence of 101.5.
The percentage of Covid cases detected through contact tracing activity slightly increases
(34% compared to 32% last week). There was a slight decrease in the percentage of cases detected through the appearance of symptoms (46% compared to 47%). Finally, 21% were diagnosed through screening activities.

. For ISS and the Ministry of Health, high vaccination coverage against these numbers is more important than ever.
