After just one year, Telekom is discontinuing the popular Magenta Eins Plus tariff.

Affected customers now have to take action themselves - this must be taken into account.

Bonn - For 80 euros telephone, landline and mobile phone flat rate for voice and data volume and 1 GB data volume in other EU countries, all of this without a minimum contract period.

For many customers, Telekom's Magenta Eins Plus flat-rate tariff was an attractive alternative to competitors' landline contracts.

But that's over now: the telecommunications company stops the tariff after just one year.

The offer is being replaced by the Magenta Eins Unlimited: At first glance, this seems to be quite similar to its predecessor, but differs mainly in terms of the two-year contract period, the price and the separate bills for the fixed-line and mobile phone flat rate.

As early as the spring, it was no longer possible for new customers to take out the Magenta Eins Plus flat rate; now it is also affecting existing customers.

Magenta Eins Plus discontinued after one year - Telekom offers a new alternative

In a letter to affected customers, which is available to the online publisher

teltarif.de

, Telekom informs about the imminent change and asks consumers to contact the company via a free hotline.

Then you can discuss what the change means for current telecom contracts and what options there are for a change.

However, the customer will not have much room for maneuver.

Since flat rate providers also have the option of terminating contracts at the end of the minimum term, the termination of the contract is also possible by the company itself.

Since the Magenta Eins Plus contract does not have a fixed term, the contract could - if necessary - be canceled independently by the company within the next four weeks.

Flat rate tariff also ended for existing customers: What that means for customers

This means that consumers will probably only have to look for an alternative: those who do not like the new conditions of the Magenta Eins Unlimited tariff will have to look around at other providers.

In fact, Magenta Eins Plus caused major problems for many customers right from the start: For many, a contract was not possible, and Magenta TV or an eSim could not be linked to the contract.

To what extent this caused the complete discontinuation of the offer by Telekom is unclear.
