This past weekend, actor
McCauley Kalkin
celebrated his 41st birthday.
Whoever became famous in the movie "Forget Me At Home" when he was only ten years old and retired from acting at the age of 14, spent a considerable part of his adult life when he was under the influence of alcohol, drugs or both together.
It’s hard to blame him: the actor’s life has been riddled with family tragedies and personal failures, and the fact that he has reached the age of 41 is a real miracle.
In honor of the birthday, we went back to some stars who started out as successful kids and ended up as unsettled adults.

Start
: Britney's career began when she was 12 and appeared on the Mickey Mouse Club. Alongside her played big names in Christina Agriela, Justin Timberlake and more. When she was 16, Spears released the hit "Baby One More Time" and became one of the greatest pop stars in history.
Fall
: 2007 was the worst year of Spears' life and the pressure she was under was overwhelming her. She entered a rehab center but was unable to remain sober and used alcohol and drugs. Spears experienced a mental breakdown, fired her managers, shaved her hair in front of stunned paparazzi photographers and attacked them with an umbrella.
Later, she was hospitalized in a psychiatric hospital for medical treatment and got into a dirty legal battle with her divorcee,
Kevin Federline
.
Today
: Spears' legal troubles are not over and she is waging a stubborn battle against her father, who controls almost every aspect of her life.
According to the videos and photos she uploads to her Instagram account, her mental state is still not bright but hey, at least she has gotten rid of addictive substances and stuck to her hair extensions.

Haley Joel Osment
embarked on a glorious career when he was just four years old, then participated in a variety of commercials.
He later played a small role in the film "Forest Gump" and received guest roles in various series.
Haley's big break came when he was 11 and was cast in the movie "The Sixth Sense."
The blond boy became a sensation, the film received an Oscar nomination and the road to fame seemed paved more than ever.
Fall: In 2006, when he was only 18, the actor was involved in a car accident.
He was injured and it turned out he had been drinking a large amount of alcohol before he started driving.
In addition, marijuana was found among Osment's belongings.
The court sentenced him to a fine, probation and participation in an alcohol rehab program.
Today: After a short break he took to take care of himself, Asmont returned to work.

: In 2012 Baines began to get involved with law enforcement after committing a number of traffic offenses including driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs, a hit-and-run accident and driving without a license.
Later, she posted a series of disturbing tweets on Twitter, in one of which she expressed a desire for Drake to "kill my vagina."
Later, she wrote to Rihanna "Chris Brown hit you because you're not pretty enough."

In 2013, Baines was hospitalized for 72 hours after setting fire to an innocent citizen's parking lot.
Then, in a series of particularly disturbing tweets, Baines accused her father of sexual abuse.
Her parents denied the harsh remarks and Baines apologized and explained that a chip implanted in her brain had caused her to slander her father.
A few days later she was hospitalized, and diagnosed with bipolar disorder.
Today
: Baines has undergone rehab and is not using drugs and alcohol.
In an interview she gave in 2018, she expressed remorse for her actions.
A year later, back for another round at a rehab facility.
Last April, her publicist said she "lives by the sea and attends an academic institution," but her Instagram account revealed a tattoo on her cheek and hasty engagements - the complete opposite of the steady show they are trying to sell us.

began his life as the brother of

, the girls' idol from the Backstreet Boys. Carter Jr. decided he wanted to sing too and at just seven years old became the lead singer of a band called "Dead End". Later, he performed with his older brother's band and was signed to a recording contract.

: In 2008 Carter was arrested after speeding. An examination revealed that he was driving under the influence of alcohol. In 2013 he declared bankruptcy and declared $ 3.5 million in debt, but the hard part is still ahead of us.
About two years ago, Arun said that his older sister Leslie, who died in 2012, had sexually abused him. Later, he also accused his brother Nick of abuse.
