It was on Radio Day, around noon, that the news of the

death of Julio Sosa was known

, who suffered from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and it transpired after Santiago Maratea organized a collection to collect about

30 thousand dollars that the Chaco announcer needed

to access an experimental drug.

As reported by

Diario Chaco

from the Perrando Hospital, where he had been hospitalized since Thursday, they indicated that Sosa died around 11:30.

The cause would have been

kidney failure

, complications from his own condition.

Sosa's case transpired on June 1 of this year, just when the ALS disease was news in all the media when the testimony of Senator Esteban Bullrich was known, who spoke of the advance of the pathology on him.

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis is a disease of the neurons in the brain, brainstem, and spinal cord that control the movement of voluntary muscles.

According to what has been explained by professionals, it is neurodegenerative, generates muscle atrophy and progressive immobility, but the worst thing is that it has no cure.

After learning about Sosa's case, a campaign began immediately in Chaco to raise $ 30,000 with the aim of being able to purchase a drug and carry out an experimental treatment that improves his quality of life.

Such was the dissemination of the case that it even reached Santi Maratea, who had already collaborated with different solidarity causes.

The influencer made the commitment to raise the money to buy the medicines, which brought a light of hope to Julio Sosa's family.

In less than 48 hours, Santi Maratea raised the necessary money, but

some inconveniences

arose

for the transfer of the donation. In principle, the family linked him to AFIP controls, but later Maratea himself clarified that he could not make the donation to the family because PayPal asked him to justify the origin of the money. Finally, another alternative was sought and the money was transferred.

Then another problem arose, since the laboratory with which they had contact informed the family that

they would not "be able to carry out their order"

, that is to say that they were not going to send the medicine.

At that time, Maratea spoke about an alleged tiredness of said laboratory because the Nuevo Banco del Chaco "asked them for a lot of billing information."

"The laboratory got tired of being asked for so much information and told them 'I'm not selling it to you,'" Santi had said.

However, from the bank they warned that Sosa's situation was a "priority" for them so they did everything possible to facilitate the acquisition of the drug.

The discussion was closed when the announcer's family issued a statement in which it dismissed the responsibility of the Bank of Chaco, although the procedure for the acquisition of the drug was never completed.

The doctors clarified that "his condition was irreversible" "and he died this Friday.
