A baby is born on an evacuation plane carrying Afghan citizens to England.
The 26-year-old Afghan woman gave birth at an altitude of nearly 10,000 meters, without a doctor on board, but with the help of flight attendants, according to a press release from Turkish Airlines.
As a precaution, the plane immediately landed in Kuwait before resuming its route to England with the healthy infant and his family.
A week earlier, an Afghan woman had given birth in an American evacuation plane, departing from a US base in the Middle East and bound for Ramstein, Germany. The young woman had felt "contractions and complications" during the journey. The air mobile commander then decided to "descend to altitude to increase the pressure in the plane, which saved the life of the mother," he explained on Twitter. Mother and child are also in good health.
