WhatsApp's new terms of use caused a stir among users this year.
Now news has been announced that should make the acceptance of the terms and conditions optional.
Menlo Park, California - WhatsApp announced an update to its Terms of Use earlier this year.
If you did not agree, your account should be blocked sooner or later.
Many users were outraged.
Shortly afterwards, the news service changed its mind and just wanted to limit accounts.
However, the Facebook subsidiary pushed the deadlines for the restrictions further and further back.
Now the company is probably rowing back again.
WhatsApp: Users no longer have to accept terms and conditions - with one restriction
Users do not have to accept WhatsApp's new terms and conditions to continue using the service. This comes from a report on the WhatsApp blog
WABetaInfo
and applies to users who have not yet agreed to the terms and conditions. According to the report, this change will soon be officially confirmed by WhatsApp and implemented with the upcoming update of the beta version of Android and iOS.
One restriction, however, remains: If you want to send messages to a business account that uses a cloud provider, you cannot avoid accepting the terms and conditions.
Otherwise the message cannot be sent.
In such a case, a window appears showing the terms of use and declaring that they must be accepted in order to contact the business account.
WhatsApp seems to have listened to its users on this point, as many had requested this solution.
@WhatsApp will finally make the updated Terms of Service optional
You have to review and accept them if you want to chat with specific business accounts.

There is also always news from Manlo Park. WhatsApp announced a change in voice messages in July. It was also recently announced that WhatsApp had deleted two million accounts - but not in connection with the new terms and conditions. (
