A Tesla on autopilot drove into a parked police patrol on a freeway near Orlando, Florida on Saturday.
The car narrowly missed the officer who had stopped to help a broken-down vehicle.
To do this, the policeman had parked his vehicle on the side of the road and switched on the blue lights.
This apparently irritated the electronics of the computer-controlled Tesla to such an extent that it took a course for the police car and rammed it on the left.
Then the Tesla hit the broken-down car.
The 27-year-old driver of the Tesla and the driver of the broken-down car suffered minor injuries, according to the Highway Patrol, the police officer was uninjured.
It wasn't the first accident of its kind in the United States.
Since the driverless movement of a car has been allowed in more and more states, Teslas have repeatedly collided with parked blue-light vehicles.
Since 2018, the authorities in the United States have counted eleven such accidents.
17 people were injured and one killed.
An investigation is now underway.
According to experts, the crashes could indicate computer problems in the electric car.
The camera and radar technology, which temporarily controls the car, may be irritated by the blue light.
Tesla has not commented on the latest incident so far.
