Vice Chancellor, Federal Minister of Finance and now soon to be the head of the SPD?
Olaf Scholz wants to go high - and help the former People's Party to regain its shine.
But is it also worth it for him?
A few days ago, Federal Finance Minister and Vice Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD) announced that they would run for chairmanship of his party.
In a federal press conference, the politician had declared that he was a long-time member of the former People's Party and no longer wanted to see what was happening to it.
After all, the 61-year-old had declared in June after Andrea Nahles resigned that he did not want to take over the chairmanship for reasons of time.
But now he has changed his mind - and wants to help the SPD back on its feet.
But with all the (future) offices the question arises: How much does Scholz earn now?
That's how much Olaf Scholz earned as Federal Minister for Labor and First Mayor of Hamburg
Born in Hamburg, he has already had a steep career: Some of his political posts include the office of Federal Minister for Labor and Social Affairs (2007-2009), First Mayor of Hamburg (2011-2018), until he finally became on March
14, 2018 Federal Minister of Finance and was appointed as the Federal Chancellor's deputy
