(ANSA) - ROME, AUGUST 29 - Hurricane Ida, arriving on the Louisiana coast this afternoon, scares even the Covid hospitals of the US state. Governor John Bel Edwards said evacuation of the 2,450 currently hospitalized patients "is not an option." The generators of all hospitals, CNN reports, have been tested in the event of a blackout and Fema, the US Civil Protection, has sent others.
"It will be a real challenge and our hospitals will likely need help," the governor said. "And then there will likely be people injured by the hurricane so we need to ensure there is room for them in the facilities," Edwards said. (HANDLE).
