Covid-19: "It must stop", the new title of Eric Clapton against health measures

The British singer has released a new single - and its music video - in which he denounces the obligations put in place by the govt.

His opposition is clear.

In his new song entitled "This Gotta Stop", or "It must stop" in French, Eric Clapton curls without naming the rulers and health measures to fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.

In the chorus of this piece of blues, he sings in particular: "It must stop, enough is too much, I can not stand this bullshit anymore".

This surprise single was posted on YouTube, illustrated with a black and white animated clip.

In the video, demonstrators hold up signs that read "Freedom", "Enough is enough", or "Stop".

Other characters have become puppets, like zombies, they are obsessed with their phones or the speech of politicians addressing the crowd.

In the background, the British artist says: "We have gone far enough like that, if you want to seize my soul, you will have to break down this door".

A protest message since the start of the pandemic

A clip and lyrics that the British media do not hesitate to criticize.

HuffPost calls him a "vehement anti-vaccine rocker" posting "a musical rant against restrictions and vaccines."

The famous Rolling Stone musical review speaks of an Eric Clapton who "seems frustrated by the vaccine".

This is not the first time that the singer's words have made the front page of British newspapers.

In November 2020, Eric Clapton had collaborated with Van Morrison for his title “Stand And Deliver” against containment.

The artist then decided to donate the funds of this piece to an association to help musicians in technical unemployment.

Since then, he has said he is "ostracized" by his family and friends because of his opinions on the management of the epidemic.

Earlier this year, the artist also spoke a lot after receiving the AstraZeneca vaccine.

He says he experienced "catastrophic" side effects, such as a numbing gel sensation in his hands and feet that kept him from moving for two weeks.

He then denounced "the propaganda" on the safety of the vaccine.

The authorities were quick to respond by explaining how 56 million doses of vaccines had been administered, saving thousands of lives.

An argument far from convincing Eric Clapton. While he is due to begin his American tour in mid-September, the British singer said he would no longer perform on any stage where proof of vaccination against Covid-19 would be requested, so as not to play in front of " a discriminated public ”.
