The Chaco justice sentenced
a woman
to
15 years in prison
who recruited some
70 women
between March 2018 and March 2020 and
forced them to have sex with officials in exchange for social plans
.
Elida Mambrín
was considered a co-author of the crime of trafficking in persons for the purpose of sexual exploitation;
a case of seriously outrageous sexual abuse;
and one of simple sexual abuse, all in a real contest, reported from the
Public Prosecutor's Office
.
For his part,
Rolando “Kilo” Vallejo
, the president of the civil association 'No Me Olvides', had been the main defendant in the case, but with the arrest warrant he committed suicide in May 2020.
The Federal Oral Resistance Court also sentenced
Lorena Quintana
, who received a
three-year suspended
sentence
as a secondary participant in the crime of human trafficking.
In addition, the court ordered the seizure of a vehicle and the money found at the time of the raids.
The court's verdict was in line with the request formulated in the plea by the attorney general Federico Carniel and the joint prosecutor of the Prosecutor's Office for Trafficking and Exploitation of Persons (PROTEX), Alejandra Mángano.
Regarding the amount of reparation to the victims, the court indicated that it will be defined according to "the considerations" that will be published in the reading of the grounds, which will be announced on September 13.
The two women were considered
guilty of recruiting the victims through the civil association
Don't forget me
and of exploiting them sexually with men linked to the Chaco power, in exchange for access to “scholarships” or plans paid with public money from which those also benefited.
Instead of demanding activities related to the public function in return, the victims were forced to have
sexual relations and other humiliating practices
with public officials.
According to the investigation, Mambrín and Vallejo captured the victims with offers of jobs for the State through social networks and radio announcements.
Once selected, they demanded a good appearance, physical appearance and clothing and exhibited them in different public bodies where officials could choose someone and offer them “another type of meeting”.
In this way, the accused obtained political influence in return.
The victims
worked as "secretaries" in the
provincial
state of
Chaco through the association and others with whom No Me Olvides had agreements.
