All in a "carbon free" exhibition space.

These are the installations that the main Italian energy sector companies will set up in the Italian Pavilion of Expo 2020 in Dubai, which will be held from 1 October 2021 to 31 March 2021. The managers of EnelX, Eni, Saipem, Snam and Terna and the Commissioner of the Italian pavilion, Paolo Glisenti, illustrated the projects this morning, during a webinar.

EnelX CEO Francesco Venturini revealed that his company will bring two large circles to Dubai, each with 300 LED lights, hung 12 meters high, to reproduce the light of the Sun and the Moon. Eni, explained CEO Claudio Descalzi, will install a plant in the pavilion to produce fuel oil and powder for pharmaceutical products, injecting CO2 into microalgae. One way to underline the group's commitment to decarbonisation.

Saipem, according to CEO Francesco Caio, will bring an installation on wind power to Dubai, which represents the need to build new plants for the energy transition. Terna, explained grid development director Francesco del Pizzo, will install a work of art in sustainable materials entitled "Driving Energy", which will represent the energy grid. Snam (which presents itself at the Expo as the pioneer of hydrogen) will offer visitors its "pasta alla decarbonara", produced with zero emissions with green hydrogen.

Commissioner Paolo Glisenti finally explained that the Italian pavilion will be completely "carbon free", with zero emissions, and with water recycling.
