The department of Eure has therefore launched a call for projects called "One birth, one tree" calling on municipalities or EPCIs to plant as many trees as there are child births in 2020, i.e. 7,000 plants at a cost of 147 530 euros.

In partnership with the National Forestry Office, four themes have been developed to respond to the possibilities of rural and urban municipalities: the planting of Biodiversity Islands to enhance the diversity of animal and plant species, the planting of trees and 'forest fruit shrubs, the first steps towards the creation of a communal forest to constitute a tree heritage which will provide, in the long term, a sustainable material and short-circuit energy, and finally the establishment of a city lung and village by islands of freshness to reduce the temperature and fight against pollution.

About twenty communities submitted an application and on June 14, the selection and technical committees retained 17 applications.
