Paralympics: still medals in Tokyo, Italy is on the 41st podium

Alberto Amodeo won silver in the 400 freestyle swimming category S8 (physical impairments) at the Tokyo Paralympics

With the podium of the twenty-year-old Lombard, on his debut at the Paralympic Games, Italy reaches 40 on the overall medal table, surpassing the spoils of Rio 2016 (39).

Xenia Palazzo won bronze in the women's 400m freestyle swimming category S8 (physical impairments) at the Tokyo Paralympics.

It is the third medal of the 23-year-old from Verona at these Games, after silver in the 200 medley and gold in the 4X100 freestyle relay.

For Italy it is the 41st podium.

In the women's discus throw F11 (visually impaired athletes) the silver went to the bell Assunta Legnante, who set the new European record (40.25 meters).

In cycling it was the turn of the Lombard Fabrizio Cornegliani (in the H1), the Apulian Luca Mazzone (in the H2), the Venetian Francesca Porcellato (in the H1-3) and the Marches Giorgio Farroni (in the T1-2).
