A 62-year-old worker was killed in a deflagration on an underground tank in a residential building in Lower Bavaria.
The police announced that the man's 19-year-old colleague was seriously injured.
He was flown to a specialist clinic with burns.
The two employees of a company had been working on the tank of a residential building in Pfarrkirchen when there was an explosive deflagration, it said.
The Kripo should now clarify the cause of the accident.
