(ANSA) - ROME, AUGUST 31 - Inflation accelerates in August with the national consumer price index for inter-community (NIC), gross of tobacco, which marks an increase of 0.5% on a monthly basis and of 2%, 1% on an annual basis (from + 1.9% the previous month). Istat notes this, underlining that the level has been top since January 2013 (when there was a 2.2% increase in prices). The tendential acceleration of inflation is mainly due to that of energy prices (from + 18.6% in July to + 19.8%) and in particular those of the non-regulated component (from + 11.2% to + 12, 8%). The prices of food, household and personal care products (those of the so-called shopping cart) started to rise again in August, marking a + 0.8% trend compared to the zero variation in July.The prices of high-frequency purchasing products accelerate from + 2% to + 2.5%.
Core inflation ", net of energy and fresh food, remains stable at + 0.6%, while that net of energy goods alone accelerates from + 0.4% to + 0.6%. 2021 is equal to + 1.8% for the general index and + 0.9% for the core component. (ANSA).
