(ANSA) - STRASBOURG, AUGUST 31 - The Marco Pannella list won the appeal presented to the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) for being excluded from the 'political' programs of the RAI during 2010. The Strasbourg Court established "that marginalization "of the List Marco Pannella violated the right to freedom of expression of the political association.
In the ruling, the ECHR judges established that the Italian State will have to pay the Marco Pannella List 12,000 euros for moral damages. At the same time, the ECHR believes that Rai's decision to suspend certain political programs has not infringed the right to freedom of expression of the political association and of the Italian Radicals. However, the judges believe that Italy should have allowed the Marco Pannella List to appeal against this choice by Rai. (HANDLE).
