(ANSA) - NEW YORK, AUGUST 31 - Former US president DonaldTrump said he will hold a rally in Iowa, the state where the first caucus for the presidential elections is held.
A move that further fuels the hypothesis that he intends to reapply for the White House in 2024.
"We will go to Iowa. We will go to Georgia. We will go to other states," he said in an interview. And an informed source told the Des Moines Register that discussions about the organization of the rally have begun. Trump's announcement comes as other potential Republican candidates are already on their way to Iowa: Texas Senator Ted Cruz has organized fundraising for Congresswoman Ashley Hinson and Congresswoman Nicole Hasso over the weekend, and Florida Senator Marco Rubio is organizing events in the state these days. Since the 2020 elections, former Vice President Mike Pence, former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and former UN ambassador Nikki Haley have also been reported.
