If you hung up on the third vaccine to stop the corona, we'm sorry to disappoint you.
After the Lemda variant was discovered, scientists from South Africa recently identified another new version of the corona virus with a number of mutations, but it is still not possible to determine whether it is more contagious or able to overcome the immunity given by vaccines or pre-infection.
The new version of the corona virus, known as C.1.2, was first detected in May and has now spread to most provinces in South Africa and seven other countries in Africa, Europe, Asia and Oceania, according to a peer-reviewed study, Reuters reports.

The new variant contains many mutations associated with other versions that are more contagious and resistant to antibodies, but they appear in a different mixture and scientists are still unsure how they affect the behavior of the virus. Laboratory tests are now being conducted to determine how much the version is neutralized by antibodies.
Just to remind you, South Africa was the first country to recognize the beta version, only one in four (alpha, beta, gamma and delta) classified as "of concern" - by the World Health Organization. It is estimated that beta, originally dubbed the "South African variant", is spreading more easily from the original version of the corona virus that causes COVID-19, and there is evidence that vaccines work less well against it, leading some countries to restrict travel to and from South Africa.
In South Africa there are 2.7 million people infected with corona and more than 80,000 dead.
The vaccine campaign in South Africa against COVID-19 has started late compared to other countries and according to the latest data only 14 percent of the adult population has been vaccinated so far.
Will the third vaccine stop the epidemic?
probably not.

Richard Lesles, an infectious disease specialist and one of the authors of the study on C.1.2, told Reuters that the emergence of the new variant tells us that "this epidemic is far from over and that this virus is still exploring ways to improve infection in humans."
He said there was no need to worry too much at this point, and versions with more mutations are expected to emerge later in the epidemic.

Genomic sequence data from South Africa show that version C.1.2 was not close to the repression of the dominant delta version in July, the last month in which there were a large number of samples.
In July C.1.2 accounted for 3 percent of the samples compared to one percent in June-June, while Delta accounted for 67 percent in June and 89 percent in July.
Delta is the fastest and most powerful version the world has encountered, and it causes quite a few policy changes regarding COVID-19 even as countries release the restrictions and reopen their economies.
Dr. Lesles said that C.1.2 could have more immune evasion properties than Delta, based on its mutation pattern, and that the findings were passed on to the World Health Organization.
