The southern entrance to the town of Gien, in the Loiret, is disfigured by a vandalized shopping area. The owner deplores the ransacking of

It is a former Renault garage, then transformed into a small shopping center including a giant Asian restaurant, which did not withstand the health crisis and confinements.

Since the site was visited, scrap metal has been stolen, and the entire 2,800 square meters is now well degraded.

It is by passing in front of this rather ugly commercial wasteland that motorists enter Gien (Loiret) by the road to Bourges, in the town of Poilly-les-Gien.

The owner, who could not be reached, is in fact trying to get rid of it.

He would be ready to resell these vandalized commercial premises at a loss, around 350,000 euros.

Almost half the price it paid a few years ago.

On the side of the town hall, the situation does not delight anyone.

The mayor, Francis Cammal, believes that the owner should first restore them, before looking for a buyer.

A first estimate has been made: it would take 30,000 euros for sanitation and 50,000 euros for parking.

No buyers for the vandalized building

“The community of municipalities has a support system to support businesses, our teams are there to support them,” recalls Francis Cammal, mayor of Gien and president of the community of Giennese municipalities.

“The sooner it is done, the better, for everyone.

We can no longer let the place deteriorate over time, “annoys the elected official.

The beginning of a solution has been found for part of the real estate right-of-way.

Next door, a public works company, TPLG, confirms its intention to buy part of the land.

"It is in progress", they say in this SME whose activity is quite strong in this re-entry.

But there is all the built part of the commercial area, and for now, no one wants it.
