(ANSA) - ROME, SEPTEMBER 01 - Qatar urgently invited the Talibans to open a humanitarian corridor, guaranteeing "safe passage" for those who want to leave Afghanistan.
The invitation came through the mouth of the foreign minister of the small kingdom of the Gulf: "We insist with the Taliban that they decree freedom of movement and a safe conduct for those who want to enter and leave the country," Sheikh Mohammedbin Abdulrahman al-Thani said at a press conference, after an interview with his Dutch counterpart, Sigrid Kaag, who is visiting Doha.
