Amazon is investing in a new 'live' audio feature similar to the options already offered by Clubhouse, Twitter and Spotify.
Sources report this to the Axios site, explaining that the Seattle giant sees the mode as a way to strengthen the types of content it can offer through its Alexa voice assistant and its smart speakers.
The project, according to Axios, would be led by Amazon's Music division and includes podcasts, but also a modality that musicians and celebrities can use live, for shows and events.
For this the company would be in contact with the main record labels.
The feature, however, would not only be focused on live music but also aimed at radio shows and podcasts. The live audio mode would also be integrated into its Twitch live video service. Last year, Amazon bought podcast subscription company Wondery for $ 300 million.
